Gender Equality and the Importance of Preventing Violence Against Women on Local Level - Launching 16 Days Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence

On November 25, 2021 Batumi Center for Civic Engagement launched a 16 days campagin against Gender-based violence from Keda.

The meeting intended to provide information regarding the gender-based violence and domestic violence to Keda self-government municipality representatives, civil activists and community leaders. During the discussion, we talked about the importance of the role of self-government to prevent domestic violence.

The meeting was organized by the Network of Centers for Civic Engagement in the framework of the "16 Days Campaign Against Gender-based Violence"

Election Media Centers Launched at Centers for Civic Engagement in 10 regions of Georgia

On September 7, 2020, Media Centers opened at all Centers for Civic Engagement (CCE) for the upcoming 2020 parliamentary elections.

 The media centers will offer citizens, journalists, civil society organizations (CSOs), candidates, and political parties an open, neutral space for debate and dissemination of information; and facilitate interaction between candidates and their constituents, thus empowering citizens to make an informed choice at the ballot box.

 In particular, the Media Centers will:

- Organize and host media briefings and pre-election debates between candidates to publicize their election platforms, engage with journalists, and respond to citizens’ concerns.
